During my visit to my hometown Beijing, China. I collected several environmental sound recordings. They are of specific places and time. After I have returned home to Chicago, I experimented with these and I find myself missing my beloved city even more. I miss the sounds of Beijing. The speed of future is happening right before your eyes. Old city streets now lined with high end shops. Lantern alley ways, neon signs boarding glass windows. Night markets bathed in dreamy colors. Streets are filled with constant flow of energy. Crowded subways extending beyond the city limits. The Beijing twang of speech, so dear and comforting. The ancient city walls still stands and even the stones have memories. Homesick is a strong emotion and it's universal.

Beijing Stories-Day is part one of a two part release. There will be a Night album. These tracks are less about my own nostalgia but more about the feeling of longing for home. It's about the distance between people, even strangers whom have filled the stories here. And it's about memories, here these moments are encapsulated like droplets of time.
For me these are of a few precious memories of my days. For you, they can be auditory stories to entice you on your own wandering, soundtracks for you own nostalgia.
